1. Acceptance of Terms
By using KAL, you agree to these Terms of Service and the API Key Usage Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service or submit an API key.
KAL is an independent community project and is not operated by or affiliated with Torn.
2. About KAL
KAL combines contributed equipment captures with Torn API data to provide shared loadout information and other tools for Torn players.
Features include player and faction loadout views, equipment history, a weapon and armor catalog, auction history, combat job specials and a public API.
3. API Keys and Contributions
API-key use and API-derived data are governed by the API Key Usage Policy.
By contributing loadout captures, you allow KAL to store, verify, analyze and display them through its tools and API.
KAL will never share any information linking you to the loadouts you contribute.
Players and equipment may appear in KAL through contributions from other users or information obtained from Torn’s API, whether or not those players use KAL. Removing your key or stopping use of the service does not automatically remove contributed captures or independently collected historical records.
4. User Responsibilities and Prohibited Activities
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use KAL to:
- Disrupt the service: spam requests, deliberately overload the servers or interfere with other users’ access.
- Gain unauthorized access: access another user’s account or credentials, or obtain or disclose restricted information.
- Bypass safeguards: evade authentication, rate limits, account bans or other access restrictions.
- Manipulate data: submit fake or deliberately misleading captures, tamper with records or exploit bugs to interfere with verification.
- Violate Torn’s rules: use KAL in ways prohibited by Torn.
Report suspected bugs or security issues to Kalends rather than exploiting them.
Commercial Use
KAL, its data and information derived from that data may not be used in commercial services or platforms, or in scripts or tools with paid features, without explicit permission from Kalends. This applies even when the KAL-related features are free.
Ordinary personal gameplay, internal faction use and faction-run mercenary services are permitted. These exceptions do not permit paid scripts or tools without explicit permission.
API and Integrations
KAL’s API is provided to developers who wish to build tools that enhance the Torn experience without conflicting with KAL’s own services. Integrations are subject to these terms, including the commercial-use restrictions above.
Do not overload or abuse the server. Use the documented public API, cache responses appropriately and respect rate limits. Excessive requests and unthrottled scraping are prohibited.
Do not replicate or circumvent the core product. You may not use KAL’s API to create tools, scripts or services that duplicate KAL’s core functionality or bypass its access restrictions without explicit permission from Kalends. Using the API to support other tools (such as a retal bot, an internal faction or faction-family ranked-war website, or a script that shows an item’s history in-game) is acceptable, provided they do not mirror or replace KAL’s own userscripts or website.
API access may be revoked without notice for violations.
5. Accuracy and Availability
KAL is provided “as is” and “as available.” It may experience bugs, downtime, delays or data loss. Features may change or be discontinued as the project develops or Torn changes.
Recorded information is not necessarily current. A loadout shows equipment observed during a previous capture, not a guarantee of what the player has equipped now. Employment information, auction records and other data may also be incomplete, outdated or incorrect.
KAL checks uploaded equipment and may block, review, correct or remove suspicious records. These checks do not guarantee that every submission is genuine or every record is accurate.
Request limits or temporary feature restrictions may be applied to protect service availability and Torn API capacity.
6. Responsibility for Gameplay Decisions
You remain responsible for attacks, trades, purchases and other decisions made using KAL. The service does not guarantee an attack result, an item’s value or any other in-game outcome.
Kalends is not responsible for in-game losses resulting from reliance on inaccurate or outdated records, service interruptions or changes to Torn. These terms do not exclude responsibility where doing so would be unlawful.
Third-party scripts and websites that use KAL’s API are independently operated. Their handling of information and credentials is governed by their own policies, not KAL’s.
7. Suspension and Removal
Kalends may restrict or suspend access to investigate abuse, protect the service or enforce these terms. Deliberately submitting false captures or repeatedly abusing the service may result in an account-wide ban, including rejection of replacement keys.
Restrictions may be applied without advance notice when necessary to address abuse or security concerns. If you believe a restriction was applied incorrectly, contact Kalends.
You can stop using KAL at any time. Contact Kalends if you need help removing a stored key or requesting deletion of associated account data.
8. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated as KAL develops. Material changes will be announced through one or more of KAL’s official channels, with the effective date stated. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Changes to API-key use and data sharing are governed by the API Key Usage Policy.
